shipping addresses and methods, and payment methods.
Account Configuration
Setup of the customer's account by a Corporate Administrator.
Account Profile
Account Details and Contact Information for the Customer's organization.
Account (tab)
Feature of the site, located in the main-menu tabs at the top left, that
allows the user to update account/contact information and review order
history.
Active Shopping List
The currently selected Shopping List (visible at the top right of your
screen).
Advanced Search
An additional search option that allows users to control search criteria.
Add to Cart (button)
A button located where any products are listed, that, when engaged, submits
selected items to the user's Shopping Cart, or "current order."
Add to Shopping List
(button)
A button located where any products are listed, that, when engaged, submits
selected items to the user's active Shopping List.
Approve Account
Process that must be completed by the WESCODirect.com Admin Team prior
to authorizing the Customer's account for use. Also, one step in a 9-step
setup process that must be completed by the Customer before the online
account can be used by B2B Users.
Attributes
Specific characteristics that define a product, such as voltage or amperage.
B2B User (buyer)
Customer representative responsible for acquiring materials through WESCODirect.com
within the parameters established by his or her Corporate Administrator.
Branch Representative
Customer's key point of contact at a WESCO branch.
Buyer Groups
Groups created and applied to B2B Users by the Corporate Administrator
to manage spending limits, catalog access, and permissions.
Buyer Site Menu
Menu available to Corporate Administrators that allows them to perform
necessary setup, administration, and maintenance activities for the WESCODirect.com
account. Limited version is available to B2B Users from their "Account"
tab.
Catalog Groups
Groups created and applied to B2B Users by the Corporate Administrator
to manage catalog access.
Category Drilldown
Means of navigating by categories to find groups of items.
Checkout
Process of reviewing and finalizing an order.
Checkout Bar
Menu bar located at the top right of the screen that displays line item
count and subtotal for the current Shopping Cart.
Compare Feature
Allows B2B Users to compare Item Details for as many as five products
at one time.
Contacts Feature
A feature that allows users to store contact information for persons involved
with the online account.
Corporate Administrator
Customer representative responsible for account configuration, administration
and maintenance.
Customer Registration
Form
Form required to establish a WESCODirect.com account; filled out jointly
by the Customer and the WESCO branch representative.
Dropdown
Text box with an arrow at the right edge; clicking on the arrow displays
a list of all possible selections.
Dynamic Link
Real-time connection with a remote site while the buyer is signed in to
WESCODirect.com.; the buyer activates this connection by clicking on the
Price and Availability button to check their custom price and local/national
availability.
Filtering Search
Feature that allows you to narrow the results of a search or category
drilldown.
Hyperlink
Underlined string of text that, when clicked on, redirects the user to
a different page.
Icon
Small image that, when clicked on, activates a feature of the site.
Item Detail
Complete information for a selected product including all attributes and
an image (if available).
Keyword Product Search
Means of using descriptive words to find products in the WESCODirect.com
catalog.
Local Availability
Product inventory available from the servicing WESCO branch for the Customer's
account.
Modifier
Word used in conjunction with a noun to better identify a product.
National Availability
Total product inventory available through WESCO's national network of
branches.
Non-Catalog Request
A feature allowing B2B Users to submit a free-form RFQ (request for quote)
for items not found in the online catalog.
Noun
Word used in conjunction with a category to better identify a product.
Order History (B2B
User)
Feature that allows the B2B User (buyer) to check the status of all orders
he or she has placed with WESCO.
Order History (Corporate
Administrator)
Feature that allows the Corporate Administrator to check the status of
all orders placed by all B2B Users for the account.
Part Number
Used by a manufacturer or distributor to indicate a specific product.
Part Number Product
Search
Means of using manufacturer or WESCO part numbers to find products in
the WESCODirect.com catalog.
Permissions Groups
Groups created and applied to B2B Users by the Corporate Administrator
to enable add/edit privileges for Shipping Addresses and Payment Methods
during checkout.
Query
Means to retrieve database records that match specific criteria.
Quick Order
Feature that allows the buyer to add products directly to the shopping
cart when the corresponding manufacturer or WESCO part number is known.
Radio Buttons
Screen control for selecting one, and only one, option.
Setup Tasks
A series of tasks performed by the Corporate Administrator in order to
customize and active the WESCODirect.com account.
Shopping Cart
List of products selected for purchase by a buyer.
Shopping List
Feature that allows the buyer to store a list of products for quick access
at a later time.
Supervisor
A Corporate Administrator for the Customer who is responsible for managing
one or more B2B Users.
User Groups
Groups created and applied to B2B Users by the Corporate Administrator
to manage spending limits.
Username
Unique identifier for each buyer within WESCODirect.com.
WESCO SIM #
The unique product number assigned by WESCO for a given item.
Wildcard (Asterisk

Use of an asterisk or percent sign as a placeholder to represent all variations
of a partial part number.
